The Antiques Rescue Centre
The Antiques Rescue Centre is here to provide a safe-haven for unwanted Antiques. Antiques whose very survival is placed in jeopardy due to the Government’s Ivory Act (2018) which removes nearly all the protections and safeguards for our shared heritage.
Works of Art which have hitherto survived hundreds, if not thousands of years are now poised on the edge of a cliff top of destruction, a cultural disaster and loss dwarfing anything that’s gone before. Here at the “A.R.C” we will do everything we can to see that doesn’t happen and we need your help to do it.

The Antiques Rescue Centre
As new laws come finally into force in 2022 a huge swathe of Antiques will become illegal to sell in the U.K. We hope these items will still be treasured and cared for by their owners throughout the country, though sadly that is not always what happens.
We have already seen Antiques having original elements removed to avoid the legislation and fees, or worse to render any intrinsic value, however small, from an Antique through its destruction.
There are also members of the public that simply don’t want inherited Antiques containing Ivory, which with changing attitudes we do understand. Up till now these unwanted Antiques could be legally sold and find a new home, but soon the only option for these unwanted Antiques will be to discard or destroy them, it’s here where the A.R.C steps in and offers a different choice to save all our history.
We will safeguard every Antique donated to us. Those that can find immediate homes on permanent display in U.K. museums will. An illustrated online database will make details of every donated Antique accessible to anyone and in time we hope to have a dedicated physical centre which will be free to all. Where our history can be seen and handled by future generations for decades to come. Where Antiques and what they tell us of our past are valued and respected, not discarded or destroyed.
We believe that no one has the right to destroy a work of art.
The Antiques Rescue Centre is here to provide a last resort home for unwanted Antique Works of Art that would otherwise be discarded, destroyed, scrapped or mutilated out of greed, ignorance or neglect.
A humble Victorian fish knife may, in a thousand years, be as precious as a Medieval carving is today. We can’t know what future generations will value, which is why we have a duty to save all of it.
